Welcome to the Hamilton Sports Park Complex Information Site

Purpose: The Sports Park that Dennis and Linda Virts are proposing will provide our community with additional sports fields and practice fields for a variety of sports.

Who are we and why are we proposing this Park:  We are Dennis and Linda Virts.  We are both natives of western Loudoun County.  Dennis grew up in Waterford  and Linda grew up in  Hamilton.  We currently reside outside of  Waterford  on a farm and have three children.  All of our children are involved in athletic activities including, baseball, soccer and wresting.  Presently, Dennis and Linda manage a little league baseball team and have experienced first hand the emergency need for sports fields in western  Loudoun  County.  The most time-consuming part of managing the team is scheduling the practices and games.  This is quite a challenge because when mother nature interferes with the preplanned schedule of athletic events, the rescheduling of numerous sports’ activities on a limited number of fields is a major problem.  The need for additional sports fields and our love for our community are the reasons we are stepping forward to acquire the land and help construct a sports park that is so greatly needed in our community.

Location of the Park:  The proposed park is located about one mile east of Hamilton and is situated between Bypass Rt. 7 and Business Rt. 7.  It includes approximately 35 acres of land.

What Sports activities are planned for this park?  The conceptual plan includes a variety of fields that will allow many sports teams to utilize the park including, baseball, softball, football, soccer, lacrosse.  The plan is also to have lighted ball fields so that the park can also be utilized in the evening hours.  There are plans for a landscaped walkway, with picnic areas, and large shade trees.  Phase II of the park will include tennis courts, inline skating area and additional multi-purpose playing fields.    Purchase of the Park Land and the Special Exception Approval Process:
Dennis and Linda Virts are full-time Realtors with RE/MAX Renaissance.  They have purchased already purchased the land to construct the park on.   They are donating a portion of their earned real estate commissions to pay for the park land and the fees incurred to get the property approved as a park by the  County  of  Loudoun.

Construction of the Infrastructure and Ball Fields:  It is intended that the construction of the park will be privately funded and a community effort.  We all live in this community.  Many of us have children in sports and we all need to participate to build this park.  Currently, we have real estate brokers, engineers, surveyors, attorneys, planners, printers, coaches, parents, kids, construction companies, well drillers,  and many other people, just like you, who are stepping forward and contributing time, money, ideas and support to this greatly needed park.   Please take some time, and seriously consider what you and your family can do, to help us construct this park.
